The goal is to have departments that service different ages and milestones. For example; a section of dresses fit for princesses with a change room for them to try. A baby department, a teenage department...even a section for moms and dads.
We want to share and teach the next generation to share with all those in their community - it must be second nature to obey this important command of Christ. Giving is a spiritual and relational issue with God.
This ministry was born from a desire to help those in need to not make any one feel as if they receiving charity, instead to teach and spread the message of being a river, sharing with those who aren’t as privileged as we are. We all have more than we need most of the time, we have things hanging around taking up space in our homes and minds.
I love that families give each other hand me downs, I love that cousins get their older cousins goodies! It saves money, it saves time and it saves the earth! It is a beautiful act of kindness. Now we can extend that to another beautiful idea.
We just share, we share with each other, we take all our extras to a warehouse that is open to anyone to come and see what there is...like a swop party that is always going on.
On our Vision day our amazing EDCC students took turns taking their friends and each other down the aisle of packed and hanging clothes, they got to choose a few items that they liked and some kids really needed. There was no question of class, only needs being met.
Contact us to donate clothing, shoes, accessories and even household goods and furniture.
We need help creating an environment that is safe, welcoming and comfortable to come and get what is needed (like a clothing store). We need mirrors, rails and shelves. Most importantly we need a warehouse.
THE BLANKET PROJECT
On one of our last children camps, we came across some children who did not own blankets. This is something we need to keep working on throughout the year. The blankets cost under R100, we also have capes made by some special people who want to see children kept warm throughout the cold mornings and evenings. One cape costs R50 to make.
Sponsor a cape for only R50
Sponsor a blanket for only R100
None of us likes being cold and it should not be a normal situation for anyone.
